PITTSBURGH—LWB Sales and Service GmbH & Co. KG is offering a new line of LWB Steinl VS-Performance presses to the rubber industry, LWB representatives said at the International Elastomer Conference in Pittsburgh Oct. 11-13.
The ergonomic design of the new presses ensure a lower working height, according to Tim Crites, area sales manager for Pittsburgh-based LWB Machinery N.A. LP.
"You don't have to have platforms around the presses, or put them in a pit," Crites said.
Also, LWB's proprietary EFE cure technology reduces cure times by about 50 percent, he said.
"With our new performance series, we combine enhanced ergonomic values with higher performance and thus increase the utility value of our machines significantly," according to company publicity.
The performance presses offer clamping force of 300 to 800 tons, representing a significant increase in Daylight and larger clamping stroke, LWB said. Also, their efficient design allows an optimized use of floor space, it said.
LWB has offered the VS-Performance line to customers in engineered and molded product manufacturing since last October, according to Crites and LWB President John Miller. Later in October, they said, the company would introduce a more advanced press at the K Show in Germany.
