BRUSSELS—Spray foam insulation manufacturer Icynene will take control of distribution within Benelux after Delhez Systems ended its seven-year contract.
Speaking on behalf of Icynene Europe, Pan Consulting's Alain de Lombard said that although Icynene had not actively sought to end the deal with Brussels-based Delhez Systems, the decision was a good one for Icynene. He said the contract had been due to expire in mid-2016.
"There was no animosity but the yearly gross was not good enough," he said.
The company, Lombard said, currently is developing a range of products for the European market using HFO blowing agent technology and was eager to grow its share of Europe's market.
"We had wanted Delhez to invest in its selling team, but Delhez did not want to do that. We will be investing where Delhez Systems did not," he said.
The intention was to make Icynene "No. 1 in terms of market share in Europe," Lombard said.
Icynene has launched a new website, www.icynene.be, which focuses on Benelux markets, specifically Belgium and the Netherlands.
