AVON, Ohio—North American specialty chemicals distributor Maroon Group L.L.C. has acquired Cadence Chemical, a specialty chemical distribution company based in Stamford, Conn.
In its Dec. 16 acquisition announcment, Maroon noted that the Cadence management team will remain in place, and that John Wilson will continue to guide day-to-day operations of the business.
"We're pleased to complete this acquisition and welcome Cadence to Maroon Group," Mark E. Reichard, Maroon president and CEO, said in a statement. "We will be making further investments in the organization to accelerate their growth and look forward to building upon Cadence's historical success."
Cadence, which was founded in 2004, supplies specialty intermediates for the CASE, chemical processing, water treatment and associated industries. Its offerings complements Maroon's existing offerings.
"The specialty intermediates segment, serviced by both Cadence and U.S. Chemicals, is an important part of our business and the combination provides a compelling product and service offering to our customers," Reichard said.
With its most recent acquistion, the Avon-based Maroon Group portfolio of companies now includes Maroon, Cadence Chemical, U.S. Chemicals, CNX Distribution, D.B. Becker, Addipel and Polyram USA.
