COVINGTON, Ga.—Tiger Woods has signed a multi-year agreement with Bridgestone Golf, agreeing to exclusively play and promote Bridgestone golf balls, while also appearing in digital, social, print and broadcast marketing as a global ambassador for the brand.
Woods, Bridgestone said in a news release, selected the Bridgestone Tour B330-S as his golf ball of choice after testing it against competing brands and models.
"Finding the right golf ball is extremely important. It's an essential part of my equipment, and the Bridgestone B330-S ball is hands-down the best for my game," Woods said in the release.
"...I'm not just here to play—I'm here to win, and the innovative breakthroughs of the Bridgestone B330-S ball can help me do that."
The B330-S was launched this year after four years of research and development. It is designed to provide superior distance and accuracy off the tee, flying six yards longer than its competitors, Bridgestone claims. The ball also is intended to optimize the spin on shots onto and around the green.
As a Bridgestone Golf ambassador, Woods joins Brandt Snedeker, a FedEx Cup Champion; Matt Kuchar, an Olympics bronze medalist; Masters winner Fred Couples; three-time major champion Nick Price; and rising star Bryson DeChambeau.
Headquartered in Covington, Bridgestone Golf USA manufactures golf balls, clubs and accessories under Bridgestone and Precept brands. The company started making golf balls in 1935 and, as the world's largest tire manufacturer, leverages the experitise of 900 rubber polymer science engineers in its products.
