BORREGO SPRINGS, Calif.—Ford Motor Co. has approved the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 light truck tire as an OE fitment for the 2017 F-150 Raptor, the latest off-road-tuned performance version of Ford's venerable pickup truck line.
The KO2 version on the F-150 Raptor was co-developed with Ford engineers and tuned specifically for the truck's distinct performance requirements, BFG said during the recent media launch of the vehicle in Borrego Springs.
The fitment is tied into Ford's decision in 2015 to make Michelin- and BFG-brand tires the exclusive OE choices for its performance lineup—Ford GT, Mustang Shelby GT350, Mustang Shelby GT350R, Focus RS, Focus ST, Fiesta ST and the Raptor.
Michelin said it has sold more than 5 million units of the All-Terrain T/A KO2 since it was launched in 2014.
