PITTSBURGH—Channel Prime Alliance and Goldsmith & Eggleton L.L.C. exhibited in tandem for the first time at the International Elastomer Conference.
G&E, a global manufacturer and supplier of black masterbatches and reprocessed polymers, and CPA, a full-service plastics and rubber distributor, have been aligned since the end of 2013, according to Michael Fagan, G&E executive vice president and general manager, and Rob Eggleton, CPA business manager, elastomers-reprocessed.
G&E was sold to Ravago Holdings America in 2012. CPA had been a Ravago company since 2004.
Ravago combined G&E's manufacturing assets in Wadsworth, Ohio, with CPA's distribution network, Fagan and Eggleton said at the conference, creating a stronger portfolio, bigger sales team and broader product line.
“When you combine what they have and what we have, the result is that we've become a much bigger presence in the rubber industry,” Fagan said.
G&E now supplies CPA with its entire product portfolio, which includes blended butyl, bromobutyl, chlorobutyl, PMSB, halogenated butyl, EPDM and EPR as well as SBR masterbatch.
Demand is so strong that G&E is moving from a five-day, two 12-hour production schedule to 24/7 operations, according to Eggleton.
It's the first time G&E has exhibited at the International Elastomer Conference in more than a decade, Fagan and Eggleton said.
“We've been active in the Rubber Division, but we just haven't exhibited,” Eggleton said.
