SEOUL, South Korea—Hankook Tire and its holding company, Hankook Tire Worldwide, have reshuffled their management teams in an effort to improve the internal infrastructure and focus on emerging markets. All announced changes take effect Jan. 1.
Among the changes announced Dec. 6 was the promotion of Soo-Il Lee, currently chief operating officer for Hankook Tire's Chinese operations, to COO marketing division and corporate management division.
Byung-Il Woo, division director of Hankook Tire Global OE division—who managed to expand original equipment supply to all new BMW 7 series and Porsche—will become COO of Hankook Tire China headquarters. Meanwhile, Sang-Hyun Oh, has been appointed vice president chief technology officer, R&D planning department.
In Europe, Hankook announced, Jae-Seock Ryu has been appointed as vice president, global original equipment department, Hankook Tire Europe, while Byoung-Ryong Lee will serve as sales vice president for Northern Central Europe & Commonwealth, CIS Hankook Tire Europe.
Heon-Joon Kim will take the position of vice president, global OE department, America regional headquarters, according Hankook.
The management changes, said the South Korean tire maker, are focused on improving internal infrastructure and the company's strategy for emerging markets.
