COLUMBUS, Ohio—The Association for Rubber Products Manufacturers awarded Hamilton Kent L.L.C.'s Tennessee facility with its Silver Achievement Safety Award at the association's Environmental Health and Safety Summit held Nov. 2-3 in Columbus.
ARPM said the Hamilton Kent site reported no OSHA recordable occupational injuries or illnesses involving lost workdays or restricted work activity during the calendar year 2015, based on information ARPM gathered from the firm's OSHA 300 logs.
“We are very proud to have received the Silver Achievement Safety Award,” Plant Manager Michael Antras said in a statement. “Our safety record is a direct reflection of the tremendous support we receive from our corporate and home offices, but it could not have happened without the honest day-to-day commitment of our employees to work safely and to look out for one another.”
Two other firms—Custom Rubber Corp. of Cleveland, Ohio, and Bridgestone APM Plant 2 in Sandusky, Ohio—received honorable mention safety awards, given to facilities with the two lowest rate of incident based on size.
The 2016 EHS Summit included learning and networking opportunities covering topics ranging from safety and risk management; drugs and alcohol in the workplace; SDS labels; OSHA slips, trips and falls; combustible dust safety; and more.
ARPM is a trade association managed by rubber business leaders with more than 80 member companies.
