MidAtlantic group to hold symposium Nov. 17

    EXTON, Pa.—The MidAtlantic Rubber & Plastics Group will hold an educational symposium entitled, “Developing and Testing Rubber and Plastic Products for Medical and Pharma Applications.”

    The event will be held Nov. 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at West Pharmaceutical Services Inc., located at 530 Herman O. West Drive in Exton.

    Cost is $50 per person.

    The event begins with a continental breakfast.

    Presentations and the presenters include General Legal Considerations for Product Development in Polymer and Material lndustries, Jason Luo, Duane Morris L.L.P.; Graphitic Lubricant Technology, Albert V. Tamashausky, Asbury Carbons; Time-Dependent Testing and Modeling for Rubber Stopper Seal Performance, Qingyu Zeng, West Pharmaceutical; Understanding the Interaction of Biologics with Primary Container Systems—Why is it important and how is it studied?, Lloyd Waxman, West Pharmaceutical; Automated lmage Analysis of Filler Dispersion in Rubber, Liang Fang, West Pharmaceutical Services; RPA: A Tool for Elastomeric Product Development and QC and its Utility in Pharma and Medical Applications, Mithun Bhattacharya, Greene Tweed; State of the Art Automated Sample Preparation Techniques to Support Polymeric Material Testing for Regulated Applications, Paul Cummings, Intertek; and Elastomeric Materials: Development Approach, Doug Cusato, BD Medical.

    Lab tours will be available for interested attendees after the meeting adjourns.
