ROVERETO, Italy—Marangoni Group has hired Pirelli Tyre executive Dino Maggioni to be its CEO, succeeding the departing Massimo de Alessandri.
Maggioni, 48, moves to Maragoni directly from Pirelli, where he was CEO of Pirelli Industrial North and South America at the time of the acquisition of the Italian Company by ChemChina. He was involved in the launch of the Pirelli truck tire brand in North America.
“With the arrival of Dino Maggioni, our group will take advantage of his experienced leadership in the automotive sector and proved managing capabilities,” Marangoni Chairman Vittorio Marangoni said.
Marangoni added that the change in executive leadership coincides with a “strategic repositioning” that the company is carrying out in order to “overcome the future challenges in the global tire market.”
Maggioni joined Pirelli in 2015, tasked with helping complete the separation of Pirelli's Industrial Business in advance of its merger into ChemChina's commercial tire business.
Prior to that, he was with agricultural equipment maker CNH Industrial for five years and spent 11 years with automotive supplier Magneti Marelli. He's an electronic engineering graduate of Politecnico di Milano.
De Alessandri has been with Marangoni since 1987, including the past several years as CEO.
