NASHVILLE, Tenn.—Hankook Tire America Corp. continued its partnership with Disabled American Veterans by doubling the number of Hankook-sponsored DAV Mobile Service Offices in 2016, thus providing free services to 172 veterans and their families.
This year, Hankook hosted four stops which allowed veterans to access support services that they may not have been able to obtain as easily otherwise.
“As a committed partner of DAV, Hankook is proud to have expanded its MSO sponsorship this year to include four locations, and to have been able to provide even more veterans and their families with the services they need in their hometown,” Hee-Se Ahn, president, Hankook Tire America said in a news release.
The DAV MSO program brings claims specialists to local communities, reducing the distance that veterans would need to travel in order to receive help in obtaining benefits and services from the VA and others. Last year, DAV MSOs traveled more than 100,000 miles to 879 cities to help veterans and their families.
“We're honored to have the continued support of a valuable partner like Hankook Tire who helps us to better fulfill our promise to serve America's veterans and their families,” Marc Burgess, DAV National Adjutant and CEO, said. “Through our 2016 partnership, Hankook enhanced the lives of veterans across the country, and this commitment to helping the veteran community speaks volumes about the people who comprise their great organization.”
Through its partnership with DAV this year, Hankook also sponsored 10 RecruitMilitary veteran job fairs across the nationwide, co-sponsored all five of the Cincinnati Reds' Military Appreciation Day baseball games and participated in the DAV National Convention.
Hankook also will sponsor the DAV 5K Atlanta on Nov. 5.
