LAS VEGAS—Phoenix Conveyor Belt Solutions Inc. has been awarded a global supplier award from Freeport-McMoRan Inc. for quality services.
The award was presented by the large mining company at MINExpo 2016, held recently in Las Vegas
Phoenix received the award because “it is an alliance partner that recognizes the global involvement and commitment between Freeport and Phoenix,” according to Craig Ammar, general manager of maintenance and operational improvement for Freeport-McMoRan, a natural resources company headquartered in Phoenix, Ariz.
“It ties into the long standing relationship, history and support of working together in the United States, Indonesia and Chile,” he said.
Noting that Freeport-McMoRan does not issue supplier awards often, Bret Hall, the head of Phoenix and NBS Service-NAFTA, said “we are honored and humbled at the same time for this recognition. It is a valued recognition of our organization—from top to bottom—and our dedication to quality products and services.”
Phoenix is headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, but its North American offices are in Fairlawn, Ohio. It has offered conveyor belting products and solutions globally for more than 150 years.
Freeport-McMoRan operates a number of large geographically diverse assets that focus on cooper, gold, molybdenum, cobalt, oil and natural gas. It claims to be the largest copper and molybdenum producer in the world.
