RUSSELSHEIM, Germany—General Motors Co. has honored Bridgestone Corp. tire plants in Bethune, France; Burgos, Spain; and Poznan, Poland, with 2015 Supplier Quality Excellence Awards.

The Supplier Quality Excellence Award is a global award, Bridgestone said, based on quality performance criteria determined by GM, including product quality and certification of GM-required quality management systems.

“Our aim is to serve society through superior quality, so to be recognized in this way by GM, is a great honor,” said Christophe de Valroger, vice president, OE consumer, Bridgestone Europe N.V./S.A. “This is a tribute to all of the team members in the plants who are fully committed to meeting the needs of our customers.”

The quality managers of the three plants accepted the awards at the ceremony held at GM Europe Headquarters at Russelsheim on Sept. 16.

This is the first time either the Burgos or Bethune plant has received the GM award; it is the second such award for the Poznan plant, Bridgestone said.
