NOVI, Mich.—Cooper Standard Automotive Inc. will celebrate Manufacturing Day 2016 throughout 15 facilities by hosting events throughout October.
The 15 facilities will open their doors over the coming weeks and host several events for students from middle schools, high schools, technical schools and colleges. The firm will work to showcase the benefits of manufacturing careers by offering plant and manufacturing floor tours, presentations about manufacturing in the local area, recruitment, career advice, and more.
Manufacturing Day, to be held on Oct. 7 with festivities taking place throughout the month, is an annual event during which North American companies showcase modern manufacturing and foster interest in manufacturing careers. Cooper Standard said in 2016 more than 2,300 facilities in North America are scheduled to host events throughout October.
“Manufacturing Day is a great way to showcase what today's manufacturing industry is all about,” Chairman and CEO Jeffrey Edwards said in a statement. “In addition, it helps underscore the industry's importance to our national economy, as manufacturing supports more than 18.5 million jobs in the United States.”
Headquartered in Novi, Cooper Standard is a global automotive supplier of rubber and plastic sealing, fuel and brake lines, fluid transfer hoses, and anti-vibration systems with 30,000 employees throughout 20 countries.
