SHAWBURY, England—Nobody was in the building when a fire broke out early in the morning of Sept. 24 at Smithers Rapra's facility in Shawbury.
According to a company spokesman, firefighters were able to contain the fire to a small portion of the facility, and the unaffected portion of the building has been deemed safe by officials and employees.
Smithers Rapra said it is working closely with local officials to determine the cause of the fire. Power and communications services have been restored to the portion of the building unaffected by the fire
Smithers Rapra said it would release more details as they become available. In a statement, the firm thanked local fire departments for their prompt response to the blaze.
