VIENNA—Semperit A.G. estimated in a 2016 financial outlook update that operational results for the year will be well below those it recorded in 2015.
It cited a continuous difficult situation in the medical sector and the cyclical decreasing demand in the industrial sector, especially in the Sempertrans segment, for the firm's new expectations.
The company expects declines of about 10 percent for its EBITDA and about 20 percent in its EBIT.
Semperit said it will continue to implement its growth strategy despite the difficult economic conditions. Its focus will be on entering new markets in the industrial sector and the expansion and optimization of existing production capacities, the company said.
It added that profitability could be improved by continuous process optimizations and efficiency enhancements as well through a cost reduction program.
