HOWELL, Mich.—Chem-Trend L.P. has acquired Huron Technologies Inc., a producer of mold release agents and related products for multiple molding applications.
According to a Sept. 13 Chem-Trend news release, Huron's products includes release agents, mold conditioners, cleaners and flushes, including polyurethane release agents, rubber release agents, silicone concentrates and polyurethane shoe sole molding release agents. Chem-Trend said the deal provides the firm with additional product technology, manufacturing and process knowledge, raw material sources, and customer segments.
“This acquisition will help us strengthen our product offering to the polyurethane industry while providing us with unique growth opportunities into other segments, such as friction products and concrete molding,” Devanir Moraes, Chem-Trend president and CEO, said in a statement. “By adding the products of Huron Technologies to Chem-Trend, we will provide end users and distribution partners with a more comprehensive range of release systems and complementary molding process aids that create even greater value, efficiency and productivity.”
Chem-Trend, a member of the Freudenberg Group, has production facilities on four continents with offices or local representatives in 18 countries and a distribution network covering more than 50 countries. Its products are used in a variety of industries, including rubber and polyurethane molding, thermoplastics processing and tire manufacturing, among others.
