AKRON—The world of tire manufacturing will come together again starting on Tuesday for the International Tire Exhibition & Conference.
The show, which runs through Thursday, features 101 exhibitors from around the world, and the conference agenda, which features 70 sessions, includes programs on tire materials, forensics, testing, consumer information, production process, modeling and more.
The Recycling Workshop returns with a full day of eight programs, as well as a celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Banbury mixer.
HF Mixing Group USA's Bob McNabb has organized six presentations covering a variety of topics including a review of current mixing technology with a forecast for the future; process engineering; downstream equipment; and the advantages of integrating the mill room into a complete engineered system.
In addition, David Stafford, executive vice president for Michelin North America, will serve as the keynote speaker. The talk will be held Tuesday at 4 p.m.
Stafford was the chief operating officer of Michelin Americas Research Company from 2007 until July, 2013, when he was appointed executive vice president, personnel and chief human resources officer. Stafford will discuss technology, innovation, advanced manufacturing and what Michelin is doing to engage a changing work force.
The networking reception immediately follows the keynote presentation.
Another special event is the presentation of the Harold Herzlich Distinguished Technology Achievement Medal. This year's recipient is Andreas Limper, managing director of Harburg-Freudenberger Maschinenbau GmbH's Freudenberg Plant, and a member of the board of management, HF Mixing Group, as well as a professor at the University of Aachen.
Limper will receive the award at a special breakfast ceremony on Wednesday
