STOCKHOLM, Sweden—Trelleborg A.B.'s offshore operation in Norway is expanding its production capacity with the addition of a new manufacturing line to complement its range of thermal insulation materials.
The business is adding fusion bonded epoxy powder coating and polypropylene to its product portfolio, solidifying what the company said is its leading position as a subsea system thermal insulation provider.
Its new production line will be built at Stockholm-headquartered Trelleborg's plant in Krokstadelva, Norway, where it will occupy about 10,764 square feet. Fusion bonded epoxy powder coating and polypropylene options will be added to the firm's range of Vikotherm thermal insulation materials that include rubber, silicone, glass syntactic polyurethane and solid polyurethane.
Trelleborg said the line is expected to be in production in the first quarter of 2017.
The new materials complement Trelleborg's current activities “and ensures we continue to focus on our customers first, allowing us to offer the optimum solution based on customers' project requirements, meeting their cost and performance needs,” according to Hans Leo Hals, managing director of Trelleborg's offshore operation in Norway.
