LUXEMBOURG—Orion Engineered Carbons has confirmed that the company's French subsidiary will close its production facility in Ambes, France.
In a statement issued on Aug. 18, the carbon black producer said it had reached an agreement with the works council and regional labor authority over the planned closure of the plant.
The company expects to cease operation at the facility by the end of 2016, following the depletion of existing stocks
The plant employs 40 and has a carbon black production capacity of up to 45,000 metric tons per year, predominately used in the production of tires and other rubber goods.
