MUNIUCH, Germany—Wacker A.G.'s silicones business has posted a 21 percent growth in earnings in second quarter of 2016 with the figure reaching nearly $106.8 million compared to $87.9 for the same period last year.
The business unit generated total sales of $584.2 million in April through June up from last year's $575 million.
The 2 percent rise was mainly driven by volume growth, Wacker said in its financial statement on July 28.
According to the company, in addition to sales growth, other positive factors were low costs and a high plant-utilization rate averaging over 90 percent.
