AKRON—The ACS Rubber Division will be holding its 191st Technical Meeting in Beachwood, Ohio.
The meeting will be held April 24-27, 2017, at the DoubleTree by Hilton.
The organization had announced at its most recent spring meeting that the next year's event would be held in Northeast Ohio. It originally was slated to be held in Charlotte, N.C., but after sluggish attendance at each of the last two spring meetings, the Steering Committee decided to stay closer to Akron, especially to control expenses.
Scheduled symposia for the 2017 session include nanotechnology and nanocomposites; polymer network; advances in soft matter; contributed session; Goodyear Medalist session; new tire concepts and materials; and carbon footprint and sustainability.
The 2013 spring meeting was held at the Hilton Inn in Fairlawn, before the division visited Greenville, S.C., in 2015 and San Antonio this year.
Officials said the group likely will consider another location in the Midwest for its spring meeting in 2018.
This year's fall meeting, the International Elastomers Conference, featuring the International Rubber Expo and the 190th Technical Meeting and Education Symposium, will be held Oct. 10-13 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh.
