TORRINGTON, Conn.—Dymax Corp. has been awarded two patents that cover adhesive and coating compositions by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
U.S. Patent No. 9,315,695 extended the scope of the firm's dual-cure technology, covering a dual-cure liquid adhesive composition that facilitates polymerization by the exposure to actinic radiation and moisture. It cures into optically clear materials with both actinic radiation and moisture, ideal for electronic applications, Dymax said.
Its second patent, No. 9,340,704, was received for sunlight curable coating composition, which exhibits quick drying time, rapidly becoming a tack-free surface with excellent flexibility and hardness, the firms said.
Dymax develops oligomer, adhesive, coating, dispensing and light curing systems for applications in a variety of markets—including aerospace, appliance, automotive, electronics, industrial, medical device and metal finishing.
