KIYOSU, Japan—Toyoda Gosei Co. Ltd. is establishing a new plant in Bawal in the Indian state of Haryana in an effort to meet the growing demand for automotive parts, the company announced on July 14.
The new plant, which is being built as part of Toyoda Gosei Minda India Pvt. Ltd, will manufacture airbags, weatherstrips and other components for local Japanese automakers.
The facility will be built on a 65,615-sq.-ft. plot of land and the building will have an area of 26,246-sq.ft.
Production is set to start in March 2017 and Toyoda Gosei expects to employ 440 at the plant.
The investment associated with the new site is estimated to be around $7.9 million.
