TOKYO—Mazda Motor Corp. has selected two tires from Yokohama Rubber Co. Ltd.'s Geolander line as original equipment for two of its crossover sport utility vehicle models.
The Geolander H/T G056, which Yokohama claims to provide solid handling performance, good treadwear and a comfortable ride on both streets and highways, was selected for Mazda's CX-9 three-row midsize crossover sport utility vehicle that will be released in North America in the spring.
Two tire sizes—P255/60R18 107H and 255/60R18 108H—will be supplied for the CX-9.
Meanwhile the tire maker's Geolander G91 was selected as original equipment of the CX-4, a new crossover SUV available in China since June 21. The tire, according to Yokohama, is part of a Geolander series that is designed to contribute to a sport utility vehicle's fuel efficiency, safety and comfort.
Yokohama will supply 225/55R19 99V size tires for the CX-4 vehicles.
