YANCHENG, China—Continental A.G., in cooperation with China Automotive Technology & Research, has opened a vehicle test center in Yancheng.
Continental said that the center would mainly support the testing and validation of its safety products and systems, including electronic and hydraulic brake systems and tires.
The test center is built in an area of 2.68 million square feet, including offices and testing workshops, and is Continental's newest testing facility in China after the winter test center near Heihe.
“The opening of the test center reflects Continental's long-term commitment to the Chinese market,” said Frank Jourdan, member of the executive board of Continental A.G. and president of its Chassis & Safety Division.
“It is our goal to meet local market demands, as well as help to enhance China's road safety consciousness,” he added, referring to a recent road safety policy by China dubbed “vision zero”.
CATARC, a technical administration body in the car industry, signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Continental in January to increase cooperation.
