BUFFALO GROVE, Ill.—Univar U.S.A. Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Univar Inc. has begun distributing Angus Chemical Co.'s complete line of nitroalkanes and specialty additive products per a new distribution agreement.
According to the agreement, Twinsburg, Ohio-based Univar will become the sole distributor of Angus products designed for markets named in the agreement following a de-stocking and transition period with Angus' incumbent U.S. distributors. These markets include paint and coatings; adhesives and sealants; rubber; oil and gas; and water treatment.
Products developed and customized for markets not covered by the agreement, such as metalworking fluids and life sciences, will continue to be distributed by Angus and its existing channel partners.
“This agreement is an important part of our business strategy to drive growth and streamline our channel to market,” Angus Vice President Mike Lewis said. “By leveraging Univar's extensive logistics network and deep industry expertise, we will be able to serve our customers faster and more efficiently nationwide.”
For nearly 80 years, Angus has been involved in the development and customizations of nitroalkanes and their derivatives. The Buffalo Grove, Ill.-based Angus claims to be the only company in the world dedicated to nitroalkanes.
