FINDLAY, Ohio—Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., along with the History Channel, have announced the tire maker as the “preferred tire of ‘Big Easy Motors,'” a new non-fiction program that follows car enthusiast Charles Handler as he scours Louisiana in search of forgotten, classic cars.
Handler is the owner of The Bomb Factory in New Orleans' ninth ward. “Big Easy Motors” chronicles his work conceptualizing vehicles and restoring classic cars.
“The partnership with Cooper is totally organic and provides the perfect touch; allowing Cooper and History to breathe new life to classic cars,” said David DeSocio, senior vice president, ad sales marketing and partnerships at A+E Networks, parent of the History Channel.
As the preferred tire of the program, Cooper tires will be used on vehicles throughout the series and will be featured in four episodes on a variety of classic vehicles including trucks and muscle cars, the Findlay-based tire maker said. The partnership also will extend to the show's digital elements and will continue throughout 2016.
“With more than 100 years in the tire industry, Cooper is proud to offer tires that are designed and built with great care for thousands of miles of excellent service,” said Jessica Egerton, Cooper's director of brand development.
“We know that people don't just drive on our tires, they depend on them. We are passionate about designing products that meet the needs of all consumers — whether driving a classic car or something newer.”
