LONDON—ContiTech A.G. is expanding its Hungarian manufacturing footprint, adding production at both its mobile fluid systems and air spring systems factories.
In an announcement to mark ContiTech's contribution to the Hungarian economy, the company said that ContiTech Fluid Automotive Hungaria (mobile fluid systems) in Makó and ContiTech Hungary (air spring systems, compounding) in Nyíregyháza are currently expanding their production capacities.
In Makó ContiTech is investing some $18.1 million to add a 29,527-sq.-ft. extension, which will house new extrusion lines, vulcanization ovens and production machinery.
In addition, a new 16,400-sq.-ft. warehouse building has been added while the office space is expanded.
According to Mihály Nagy, general manager of ContiTech Fluid Automotive, more expansions could also be expected in the future.
In Nyíregyháza, ContiTech is also expecting to create more than 680 jobs with its new $18.1 million expansion project.
The project involves heating and cooling lines production.
