BOSTON—Cabot Corp. will increase the invoice price by $50 a metric ton or 5 percent, whichever is greater, on all carbon black products sold by the firm's Reinforcement Materials operation in North America.
The price hike is effective for all shipments made on or after July 15, or as customer contracts allow.
Cabot said the increase is needed to address rising costs associated with manufacturing quality products as well as costs related to regulatory compliance, packaging and logistics.
It said it needed the price boost to remain a reliable producer and supplier of carbon black products.
