BEIJING—China National Chemical Corp. is celebrating Italy and all things Italian—including Pirelli Tyre—at its headquarters throughout June as part of its inaugural “National Theme Month” events.

National Theme Month is a corporate cultural event launched by ChemChina to strengthen its integration with overseas subsidiaries, the company said.

Since ChemChina started to go global in 2004, it has added companies in Australia, France, Germany, Great Britain, Israel and Norway with combined overseas staffing of 48,000. On June 1, ChemChina's merger with Pirelli & C. S.p.A. took judicial effect.

The serial event, jointly launched by the head office and overseas subsidiaries, allows its staff at home and abroad to understand each other's history, culture, economy and society.

The Italy-themed month features a “Beautiful Italy” exhibition, dedicated to Italy's history and culture, architecture and design, manufacturing technology, and music and films.

Among those attending the June 2 opening night were Italys's Ambassador to China Ettore Francesco; SEQUI Minister Counselor Augusto Massari; Cultural Attache Stefania Stafutti; and Pirelli Asia Pacific CEO Giuseppe Cattaneo.

The exhibition includes a zone dedicated to Pirelli, ChemChina said, showing the tire maker's "fast and furious" products, cutting-edge manufacturing technology, high-end quality and arts and sporty quality of Pirelli.

In written comments, ChemChina Chairman Ren Jianxin said: “Working with Pirelli colleagues allows us to know more about Italy, the creativity strategy, superb quality, sense of social responsibility and unique artistic taste of Pirelli and better understand the relation between Pirelli and Italy. The charm of Pirelli and Italy lies with the perfect combination of traditional legacy and modern technology.”

The organizer also invited Pirelli Executive Vice President & CEO Marco Tronchetti Provera to record a video to share his views on competency in ten sentences and on management and teach Chinese colleagues Italian.
