TRAVERSE CITY, Mich.—Omni United U.S.A. has added a run-flat ultra-high-performance tire model to its Radar brand, the Dimax R8+, specifically designed for high-performance vehicles.

The tire features an asymmetric tread pattern for improved handling at high speeds; wide circumferential grooves to provide safety in wet and dry conditions; and silica tread compound technology that offers improved wear and grip.

The Radar Dimax R8+ is available in rim diameters of 17 to 26 inches for most UHP passenger vehicles and high-performance SUVs.

The range offers 29 run-flat sizes for most of the popular vehicle fitments, the company said. All run-flat sizes are constructed using reinforcing materials technology, including Omni's proprietary Radar Runflat Insert Technology (RRIT), giving a smooth ride under normal operating conditions and maintaining mobility when running in a run-flat condition, the company said.

Radar run-flat tires can be driven a distance of 50 miles at a speed of up to 50 miles per hour when used in a run-flat condition using an appropriate tire pressure monitoring system.

“The Dimax R8+ is for drivers looking for an ideal blend of style and performance. This extensive range includes our first run-flat sizes and has been developed for both UHP passenger vehicles and high-end SUVs, including many niche sizes up to 26-inch rim diameter. We plan to introduce more run-flat tires over the next several months.” said GS Sareen, founder and CEO of Singapore-based Omni United (S) Pte. Ltd.

The Dimax R8+ line, which carries a 30,000-mile treadwear warranty, will have 131 sizes introduced in phases over the next 12 months — 41 sizes currently are available with 23 more sizes available in September, 11 sizes in December and the rest will be available by the end of May 2017.
