AKRON—At least 44 papers will be presented during the 2016 International Tire Exhibition & Conference.
The event's three co-chairmen, Harold Herzlich, technical editor for Rubber & Plastics News, Walter Waddell, recently retired from ExxonMobil, and Larry Evans, recently retired from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, are nearing completion of the conference agenda.
ITEC will be held Sept. 13-15 at the John S. Knight Center in Akron.
The topics at the conference include a look at innovations in materials, rolling resistance and tire regulations; the future of tire production plants; a global tire survey; and a look at new techniques to handling an industry hazard, tire fires.
ITEC also features three days of conference programming, which is available by clicking here.
In addition to the conference and exhibition, a Tire Mechanics Short Course will be held in conjunction with ITEC. The five-day course is designed for chemists, engineers and scientists. It involves an in-depth study of the developments surrounding tire engineering and those completing the course will receive a certificate from the University of Akron.
