SOUTHFIELD, Mich.—The Original Equipment Suppliers Association has named Charles Chesbrough executive director, strategy and research and senior economist.
OESA said in a June 2 news release that he joins the association with more than 25 years of experience in utilizing data for quantitative analysis to uncover key metrics across many industries. His primary task will be providing important information and unique analysis of the supplier community.

Prior to joining OESA, Chesbrough was the senior principal economist and director of industry analysis at HIS Automotive, where he was responsible for developing and integrating statistical models and economic scenarios into global automotive forecasts, OESA said.
Before his time at IHS, Chesbrough was a senior consultant in Ford Motor Co.'s marketing strategy group, a senior manager at two technology start up companies and a market research project manager. He began his career as a floor trader at the Chicago Board of Trade.
OESA is one of four divisions of the Motor & Equipment Manufacturers Association and consists of more than 430 member organizations.
