NEW ORLEANS—Hendrick Lam, senior vice president of TSRC Corp., was elected as international president for the 2016-17 year of the International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers.
He was elected April 13 during the group's 57th Annual General Meeting in New Orleans. He succeeds Greg Nelson of East West Copolymer L.L.C., who now becomes past-president, international.
Lam is in charge of TSRC's Applied Polymers business unit. He joined the SR firm 17 years ago and was responsible for various joint venture projects and technology licensing. He led TSRC's acquisition of Dexco Polymers in 2010.
In addition to Lam, who will also serve as president of the association's Asia-Pacific Section, other members elected to the Executive Committee for the coming year were:
• Yaumasa Yamokoshi, Asahi Kasei Chemicals, Asia-Pacific vice president;
• Ralf Irmert, Trinseo, president of the Europe Middle East and Africa section, with Enrico Lucchese, Versalis, as vice president;
• Peter Herzog, TSRC Dexco Polymers, president of the Americas section, with Robert Handlos, Firestone Polymers, as vice president; and
• Ken Hertl, Goodyear Chemical, as treasurer.
Continuing to serve on the Executive Committee are Abraham Brink of Karbochem and Juan Ramon Salinas, who is the IISRP's managing director.
Houston-based IISRP has 60 members from 22 countries that collectively produce about 80 percent of the world's supply of SR.
