SEREMBAN, Malaysia—Bostik S.A. has expanded its manufacturing presence for cementitious products based on its polymer modified binder technology in Seremban.
The firm, which serves as the adhesives unit for Arkema S.A., said the expansion enables it to better serve the construction customers in central Malaysia, including Kuala Lumpur, North Malaysia and Sabah.
“We are pleased and excited to continue Bostik's global development and, with this capacity expansion, we are strengthening our operations in Malaysia,” Jeffrey Merkt, Bostik senior vice president of Asia, said in a news release.
Bostik manufactures cementitious construction products including ceramic tile adhesives, tile grouts, floor leveling compounds and wall finishing products, all based on the firm's polymer modified binder technology.
This expansion occurs two years after Bostik opened its second Malaysian manufacturing plant in Johor Bahru to serve the southern Malaysia and Singapore markets.
Bostik employs more than 4,800 in more than 50 countries serving the global industrial manufacturing, construction and consumer markets with its adhesives technologies.
Arkema, a global specialty chemicals and advanced materials company, employs about 19,000 globally with 2015 sales of about $8.6 billion.
