KINGWOOD, Texas—Orion Engineered Carbons L.L.C. will increase prices on all rubber black grades sold by its Rubber Carbon Black Line in North America. The price increase will begin with July 1 shipments.
Orion cites increased operating expenses and costs involved with meeting more stringent customer quality standards as driving factors behind the price increases.
Invoice prices for rubber carbon blacks will be adjusted by 6 percent, according to Orion, and the new invoice prices will apply besides respective raw materials adjustments. Packaging surcharges also will increase as of of July 1, the company noted, and additional increases may be implemented for certain special Rubber Black grades on an individual basis.
In a news release, Orion noted that price increases allow the company to “maintain its service levels and supply of high quality carbon blacks” while providing “innovative solutions and developments for customers worldwide.”
