BRUSSELS—The European Tyre and Rubber Manufacturers' Association and its national tire manufacturer association members have launched a new campaign, TyreAWARE, aimed at raising awareness of best practices and procedures on tire maintenance, storage and service life.
The TyreAWARE materials, presented in 14 European languages, are available on a new interactive website, www.tyreaware.org, according to an ETRMA press release.
They provide comprehensive information for tire dealers, government authorities and consumers alike on tire storage, purchase, maintenance and service life, the association said.
The website contains videos explaining the correct time to replace tires, the importance of monitoring correct inflation and when to fit vehicles with winter tyres, the ETRMA said.
The ETRMA announcement on TyreAWARE was issued May 23, less than a week before National Tire Safety Week begins in the U.S.
The 15th annual National Tire Safety Week, slated for May 29-June 4, involves tire manufacturers, tire dealers, auto repairers and related organizations sponsoring activities and disseminating information about proper tire inflation and maintenance.
National Tire Safety Week is part of the Rubber Manufacturers Association's ongoing “Be Tire Smart—Play Your P.A.R.T.” tire safety program.
