NEW CASTLE, Del.—TA Instruments will hold a series of free online practical scientific training courses beginning June 1 with “A Practical Approach to Thermal Analysis.”
The inaugural course in the series will focus on techniques, experiments and data related to differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). The content will be designed for both experienced and new users.
“This course will help any scientist get the most out of their investment in a DSC system—any DSC system,” Terry Kelly, president of TA Instruments, said in a statement.
Participants will learn the basics of DSC and Modulated DSC measurements, instrument calibration and verification, how to design optimal experimental conditions and tips for presenting great data, the company said.
All DSC users are invited to attend the training series and may register for the live webcasts to get the most out of the course. Interactive Q&A sessions will be conducted at the end of each live event.
Ed Moriarty, TA Instruments' director of worldwide marketing, said the subsidiary of Waters Corp. plans to offer additional training in the future to cover such topics as thermal analysis, rheology and microcalorimetry, among others.
