AKRON—Low rolling resistance silica treads will be among the featured topics at the 2016 International Tire Exhibition & Conference.
The event will be held Sept. 13-15 at the John S. Knight Center in Akron.
The program will include a group of papers on different aspects of low rolling resistance, specifically in silica treads. Judy Douglas of Lanxess A.G. will present “Functionalized SSBRs for Silica Tread,” while Toby Samples of ARDL Inc. will discuss “Tear and Cracking of Silane-Silica SBR.”
ITEC co-chairs Walter Waddell and Larry Evans will collaborate on a two-part presentation, “HDS Silica for Improved Tire Performance.”
John Kounavis of Negromex will speak on “Ultra-high Surface Area Silica-based Tire Tread Compound Performance,” and Ming-Jiao Wang of the EVE Rubber Institute is presenting a program called, “Rubber/Silica Masterbatch Produced with Continuous Liquid Phase Mixing Application to Passenger Tire compounds.”
