CHARLOTTE, N.C.—EnPro Industries Inc. has purchased the assets of Rubber Fab Gasket & Molding Inc. in a cash transaction.
Rubber Fab, headquartered in Sparta, N.J., is a designer and producer of a full range of sanitary gaskets, hoses and fittings for the hygienic process sector, principally the pharmaceutical, bio-processing, and food and beverage industries.
Financial details were not disclosed by the companies.
Rubber Fab will become part of EnPro's Garlock group of companies. Garlock is a manufacturer of high performance sealing and fluid handling products for the chemical, power generation, and oil and gas markets.
Garlock also serves some markets served by Rubber Fab, the spokesman said, but Garlock has a smaller presence in the sector with sales of between $8 million and $10 million annually. Rubber Fab's yearly revenues are about $17 million, virtually all in the hygienic segment.
Rubber Fab's work force of 40 along with its management team will remain with the company, the spokesman said. They will continue to operate out Rubber Fab's plant in Sparta, which will be retained by its new parent company, he said.
