AKRON—Consumer information and regulations important for tire manufacturers will be among the topics explored for the first time at the 2016 International Tire Exhibition & Conference.
The event will be held Sept. 13-15 at the John S. Knight Center in Akron.
Some of the topics to be discussed during the series of presentations will cover tire grading, government regulations on tires, tire fuel efficiency data, green tires and tire labeling in China, aged tire durability, rolling resistance and fuel economy, guiding consumers to fuel efficient tires and a presentation on consumer online viewing trends at Consumer Reports.
Speakers for this section include Larry Evans, ITEC co-chairman and George Gillespie, both recently retired from National Highway Traffic Safety Association; Ray Tuvell, recently retired from the California Energy Commission; Sunny Song from the China Rubber Industry Association; John Kohler from Chrysler and ASTM F09; Madhura Rajapakshe of Smithers Rapra; and Walter Waddell, ITEC co-chairman, recently retired from Exxon.
Nearly 50 presentations will be given on concurrent tracks over the three days of ITEC.
More than 80 percent of the exhibit hall is sold out, with just 17 booths still available.
