TRAVERSE CITY, Mich.—Omni United USA Inc.'s newest all-terrain tire offering, the Renegade A/T-5, employs stone ejector technology to help prevent stones from clogging in the grooves and drilling into the tire, according to the company. The Renegade A/T-5 is part of the marketer's flagship Radar brand.

“The Renegade A/T-5 is the pinnacle of the all-terrain SUV and light truck offerings from the Radar brand,” Omni United CEO GS Sareen said in a release.

“This is our offering for those off-road enthusiasts who are looking for a product that has an aggressive tread pattern and sidewall designed to deliver improved off-road traction, without sacrificing highway performance.”

Several years of research, design and testing went into the development of Renegade A/T-5, which aims to optimize performance in any condition including dirt, mud and snow, while maintaining a quiet ride.

The Renegade A/T-5 tires have a raised serration between the tread blocks that, according to Omni, actively deforms when the tire is rotating—opening, closing and then releasing as the tire goes through the contact patch. This action helps to eject stones from the tread pattern. The tire also features a three-body-ply construction wherein the third layer of protection helps to strengthen and stiffen the tire to prevent puncturing of the sidewall and tread areas, Omni said.

The wide center block design of the tire gives it a sophisticated but aggressive look, the company said, while also working to enhance stability, handling and treadwear in nearly all types of terrain.

The Renegade A/T-5 will have 57 sizes introduced in four phases. Sixteen sizes are available now and 11 more are planned for market introduction in June. Thirty more sizes will be released in late 2016/early 2017, according to the company. The A/T tire will have a total of 21 ROWL sizes and is backed by a 40,000-mile treadwear warranty that carries a UTQG or 500 A A.
