DUBAI, United Arab Emirates—Michelin has launched its Pilot Sport4 tires for the Middle East and African markets, through its distribution partners, the French tire-maker said on May 3.
The new high-performance tire, said Michelin, has been developed in partnership with some of the world's most demanding car manufacturers.
“Middle East and Africa play an important part in the Michelin group's global growth story,” Pierre Granzotto, general manager for passenger cars and vice president for Michelin AIM (Africa, India & Middle East), said in a statement.
Michelin unveiled Pilot Sport 4 globally in January, describing it a game-changer within high-performance tires.
“The technological innovations in the ultra-responsive tread of the new tire come from Michelin's longstanding experience in motor racing, especially Formula E,” Granzotto said.
The tire features a new dynamic response technology, consisting of a belt with hybrid aramid and nylon reinforcement to improve directional control.
Michelin said the tire has density, extreme tension-resistant and is particularly lightweight. The asymmetric design allows for good handling and safety while minimizing audible noise for a silent performance.
The Pilot Sport 4 is currently available in 17 sizes, mainly in 17-inches and 18-inchs, in the Middle East and Africa.
