TAURAGE, Lithuania—Trelleborg A.B. broke ground on a new facility to produce pipe seals in Lithuania, the company said on April 15.
The new site will be built next to Trelleborg's current production site in Taurage, which has been producing rehabilitation pipe liners since 2011.
Trelleborg expects to create for a number of positions at the facility and will invest in extra machinery to cater for increased production levels.
“Following the integration of our new pipe liner production capabilities late last year, our production levels have increased significantly,” said Andreas Bichler, research and development director within Trelleborg's pipe seals operation.
The construction of the new manufacturing facility is expected be completed by November.
With the operation of the new building, Trelleborg expects to increase production at the Lithuanian site by 50 percent.
All of Trelleborg's pipe rehabilitation operations will move from their current production location to the new facility.
