FALLBROOK, Calif.—Specialty polymers producer PriPro Polymers Inc. has launched lines of crosslinked TPUs and TPEs aimed at a variety of markets.
Called X-Link, the TPUs and TPEs can be customized for various industrial and consumer products, the firm said. Current applications include agricultural heavy equipment, specialty vehicles, oil and gas specialty parts, and mining screens.
A-Link TPUs are highly resistant to abrasion, chemicals and heat, and they last longer than standard polyurethanes and elastomers, according to PriPro.
“These new lines of thermo cross-linkable polymers give the end user better mechanical properties such as abrasion resistance, heat deflection and chemical resistance with the cost cutting benefits of injection molding,” said Pijush Dewanjee, president and chief chemical engineer at the company.
“Traditional cross linking materials are manufactured in an open cast system requiring typically dozens of aluminum tools and lots of hands on operations,” he said. “With the X-Link injection molding operation, the production can become completely automated and without any porosity in the parts produced.”
