PUEBLA, Mexico—Frimo Group GmbH has opened a new production site in Mexico, opening a new 21,000-sq.-ft. building and 7,500-sq.-ft. of office space in Puebla.
The plant is operational, and the firm said it plans to grow employment to a total of 35 employees over the course of 2016. The facility will produce, refurbish and maintain tools and systems for the automotive industry.
The firm said its entire range of technologies will be available at the new site, including production solutions for polyurethane processing.
Frimo cited Puebla's central location, its 1.5 million population, closeness to a majority of automobile production centers and proximity to one of Volkswagen's facilities as primary reasons for establishing a presence there.
The firm has named Sascha Gehrmann the site's general manager and Wolfgang Kleingunther production manager.
The Frimo Group includes production locations in Europe, Asia and America, with more than 1,200 employees worldwide.
