PLYMOUTH, Mich.—Freudenberg-NOK Sealing Technologies showed off a new low temperature fluoroelastomer that's being readied for use in the European food and beverage industry at the 2016 International Beverage Dispensing Equipment Association conference from March 17-21.
The firm said 70FKM425727 has been formulated from existing FDA-compliant highly successful low temperature FKMs used in the U.S. The new FKM demonstrates dramatically improved low temperature flexibility over conventional FKM materials as temperatures approach 0°C and lower.
“We maintain a comprehensive database of CIP/SIP compatibility, flavor transfer characteristics and international regulations and certifications, and we continuously validate our products against these standards,” Rory Paul, director of sales for North America, process industry sector, said in a statement.
Plymouth-based Freudenberg-NOK added that 70FKM425727 also is highly resistant to low and high ratio syrups, treated municipal water and cleaning solutions, and is particularly well suited for use in dynamic seal applications because of its high wear resistance.
