ALTDORF, Switzerland—Freudenberg Sealing Technologies has appointed Rainer Joest as its new president for its global automotive sales and marketing organization, effective April 1.
He replaces Torsten Maschke, who will leave the company at the end of March to join Datwyler Holding Inc.'s Sealing Solutions Division as a member of its executive management team effective Oct. 1. He replaces Dirk Lambrecht, who will become the new CEO of the Datwyler Group on Jan. 1, 2017.
Until his new appointment, Maschke will provide support during the transition and handle special projects as group chief operating officer.
Freudenberg said Joest brings extensive experience in research and development, sales and manufacturing to his new position. He joined the firm's research and development organization in 1978. He took over the management of automotive sales in Europe in 2011.
In 2006, Joest was promoted to head of Freudenberg Sealing Technologies' Special Sealing Products unit, a position he's held since 2010. Since that time he's been in charge of the firm's global Gasket Division, with responsibility facilities in Europe, the U.S., Brazil, India and China.
Datwyler said Maschke is an expert in elastomer and sealing technology, as well as the automotive industry. He has been responsible for the worldwide distribution of sealing and damping solutions for the automotive industry at Freudenberg since 2011. Prior to this, he held international management roles within the automotive business at Freudenberg.
