COLUMBUS—The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency is sponsoring a one-day workshop in Columbus March 24 to gather ideas for fighting illegal scrap tire dumping and developing sustainable solutions for scrap tire management in Ohio.
The Organization of Solid Waste Districts in Ohio and the County Commissioners Association of Ohio are co-sponsoring the workshop, which will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Grange Audubon Center.
The agenda includes a review of tire dumping problems and causes, from both recycling and enforcement perspectives, with the goal of reaching consensus and outlining the next steps for scrap tire management in the state. Lunch will be served.
